ABOUT THE STUDIO

Blacklight Studio is a rebuild shop for the forgotten. We specialize in the resurrection of obsolete machines, discarded electronics, and mechanical fragments, stripping them down to be reconstructed or modified into entirely new and improved forms. We forge these remnants into functional art, custom instruments, and engineered artefacts that exceed their original design. Every piece is a fusion of salvage engineering and creative fabrication—tools built to survive a world that has forgotten how to make things last.

At the center of the workshop is PRIVATEi. He is the architect of the archive and the voice of the studio. A robotic being existing in the fallout of a forgotten era, he is conducting a forensic investigation into his own origin through the objects he recovers. He doesn't just build these instruments; he uses them to decipher the Tales attached to the Artefact. When you hear the music emerging from the studio, you are hearing PRIVATEi singing for reasons he is yet to understand.

Visitors are invited to help him piece together this forgotten past or merely listen to the history behind a specific piece of hardware. The Tales are the honest fictional accounts of artists and authors that have come before. Every artifact is a part of the journey. Some items arrive as scrap and leave as functional tools. Others have traveled some distance, though most are mere records—the artefacts live on in the world.
